The ‘Cold Calling’ scheme has been operating in Llanyrafon for the last couple of years. It has made many people feel safer and more confident  to say ‘No’ to callers. However, recently there has been reports that callers have been ignoring the signs and then behaving aggressively towards elderly residents.

Councillor German stated:

“I have been contacted by some residents who are keen to see more signs and for stickers for newer residents.”

“The good news is that Trading Standards have a number of new booklets and stickers which will be distributed in the area in the near future. The scheme will be rolled out in other areas too and hopefully the impact on rogue callers will be greater as they realise that this kind of behaviour is unacceptable everywhere”.
